DeShaun Foster Football Insurance! Which Bone Do You Think He'll Break This Year?

Thing about it is, once DeShaun Foster’s ankle explodes into 41 pieces, it will be DeAngelo’s time to shine! You know it's going to happen, and I know it's going to happen the only question is when and for how long?

Should the Carolina Panthers have traded him in the offseason? Yes! The chronic problems that killed the Panthers last year were two -- an unstable running game and the lack of a weapon to draw defenders away from Steve Smith. Somehow they were able to draft DeAngelo Williams, who by the way as of this past Thursday night reached an agreement of a 5 year $10 million dollar deal, to help remedy those problems by splitting time with DeShaun and to be the workhorse when DeShaun sprains his pinky. Go ahead De ....... Angelo that is, not DeShaun.

Asked what he can do to stay healthy, Foster said there was only one thing left for him to try: "I guess I need to drink more milk -- at least that's what my mom says." Enough Said!

How many games will DeShaun Foster miss this year for the Carolina Panthers due to injuries?
None
1-4
5-9

10-15

He gets hurt in a pre-season game and works as a commentator for the rest of the year

Harold! I Mean It! I Will Not Have Sex With You!

Harold Reynolds was recently fired from his ESPN baseball analyst job. Reportedly he was fired due to some sexual harassment claims. Harold had his first interview since being fired with the New York Post.

"It was a total misunderstanding," Reynolds told the Post. "My goal is to sit down and get back. To be honest with you, I gave a woman a hug and I felt like it was misinterpreted."

Come on now Harold. I like you. I am gonna miss you. I thought you were great on TV..... but do you expect me to believe that you were fired for giving a woman a hug? From what I have been reading, it seems Harold had a hard time stopping himself from hitting on women in the office and he was warned by ESPN Executives to stop. The girl he "hugged" apparently turned him down and turned him in.

What's next for Harold? I hope he can find a job somewhere. He is a great analyst and I enjoyed him in the allstar celebrity games. Apparently he's just not a ladies man.

Steve Nash is known for flashy passes, Most Valuable Player Awards and god awful hair. It is my pleasure to report that the hair is finally gone. Steve is a lucky man. It's hard enough for a short white boy that can't jump to make it in the NBA. It's gotta be even harder to be taken serious with hair like he had. I'm sure Steve's mom is thrilled that her little boy has finally gotten his hair cut. I know he loves soccer and all the soccer players have the long shaggy hair. Steve your not a pro soccer player and honestly you looked kinda dumb with the long hair. I'm glad you finaly realized it!

Whichever Way You Look At It, They're All Traps

Let's be honest, this game on August 31, 2006 is definitely one of those that if you are a South Carolina fan, when kick-off starts, you grab your balls really really tight and hold on to them for dear life until the buzzer sounds in hopes that your gamecocks are victorious. And at the end of it whether you win or lose, you just go ahead and get blitzed that night anyways!

In his first two years, Sylvester Croom worked to implement a system with players he inherited from the previous staff. As he enters his third year at Mississippi State, he finally has a roster that features mostly players he recruited. "Two years of 3-8, this is the last time for that. I've been patient, and my patience has worn out. When I came here, I knew it was going to take time to build a positive attitude. Now, I'm tolerating nothing. Anybody or anything that gets in the way of us winning is going to get eliminated," stated Croom. The Mississippi State Bulldogs have 5 returning starters on the offense and 7 returning starters on the defense. Well actually, you can say that have 6 on the offense returning and 8 defensive starters returning becuase of all the stupid cowbells which add an extra person on the field.

Quarterback Michael Henig knows the success of Mississippi State's offense begins with him. And to be the type of player he wants to be, understanding the West Coast offense is priority No. 1. Henig's had two years to grasp the schemes and has a far better understanding of what coach Sylvester Croom expects. One of the biggest surprises last year was the improvement of the defense, which went from last in the SEC in total yards allowed in 2004 to eighth in 2005. Let's keep in mind, even though this team went 3-8 last year, they made significant improvement throughout the season. They defeated Ole Miss 35-14 the last game of the season which was at Ole Miss.

This is a scary game for the gamecocks yes indeed. This is what I like to call a "trap" game. Which my definition is a game where if you win - FINE, you're suppose to, but if you lose - OH NO, that kills your season already. With Sylvester Croom saying "Anybody or anything that gets in the way of us winning is going to get eliminated," I gotta believe him. Someone better tell Blake Mitchell to bring some earplugs because the cowbells will be ringing and screaming on that Thursday night!

On August 31st, what happens when South Carolina visits Mississippi State?

Mississippi State wins by 1-7 points

South Carolina wins by 1-7 points

South Carolina wins by 8-14 points

South Carolina wins by 15-21 points

What A Shocker!

Lance with his favorite shirt

Let me start by saying... I thought I was done with Lance Bass. I had almost erased all memory of the guy. It was a happier time for me and the rest of the world. But now Lance is back and he has a secret.

In what may be the worst kept secret in United States history, the former N'Sync star is ready to tell the world he is GAY. In a recent interview with People Magazine Lance told everyone that he was tired of carrying the burden of hiding it from the world. My response to Lance's profession? No shit! First off Lance you didn't really do a good job of hiding it. I think everyone had a feeling you may be gay or just a really girly man. Now I am just waiting for Timberlake and the rest of them to come out. Finding out that Lance Bass is gay is like finding out for sure that Barry Bonds used steroids.

Best of luck to you Lance. I can only hope that your bravery will inspire other aging boy band members to come out as well. You my friend are a pioneer.

Fixed The Notre Dame Recruiting Problem - All By Myself

Well I think we are all aware of the allegations that Clemson football player Jamie Cumbie made against Notre Dame over the past week. “I’m not going to lie,” Cumbie told The Post and Courier newspaper of Charleston, S.C., for a story Wednesday. “The coaches at Notre Dame sent some bad letters ripping Clemson after I committed here.” He said the Irish coaching staff had a list of advantages and disadvantages. He said among the advantages they listed was that all Notre Dame football games are televised. “Then they said Clemson has a horrible education,” he said.
Who knows how accurate or true those statements really are, and who knows if anything more will ever happen with it but it doesn't matter. Listed below is the recruiting piece that Charlie Weis will probably be using from now on - thanks to this blog of course.

Myers Has Good Outing.... Phillies Still Get "BEAT"!!!

Major League Baseball's latest criminal, Brett Myers, had a very strong outing in his first start in Philly after hitting his wife. However, just like he loves his wife, it just wasn't enough.

In a game where both the Jones's were out and Marcus Giles (trade him)was playing, the Phillies still couldn't pull one out. The Braves overcame the Jones boys absence and won 5 to 1. Renteria had a homerun and added a double in the 9th to drive in the go ahead run. Jeff Francoeur then put the game away with a 3 run homer. This game showed me that the Braves actualy can win the wildcard. They received great starting pitching, had some clutch hits, overcame key absences and their new reliever Wickman looked strong in his first outing.

Chipper Jones will be out for a few more games it seems. This kind of lets Bobby Cox off the hook. He doesn't have to decide on how much Betemint will play. However, when Jones comes back Bobby is going to have to make a tough decision. Betemint or Giles...... Let's just hope Bobby makes the correct decision. GO BRAVES!

Things That Make You Go...... HUH??

It seems that there is always something going on in the world of sports that makes you stop and realize how ridiculous the world is.

BARBARO: THE DYING HORSE

Ok, I guess it sucks for the extremely rich people that own the horse. They could have made even more money by whoring the horse out to other stables. For the rest of the world.... get over it. Do you really care that a horse may die. Of course not! We are a society that goes out in the woods, on a full stomach, and shoots perfectly healthy deer, rabbits, bears, elk.... and all the other animals rednecks love to shoot because they think an animal head would go great with their new couch. Sports Center, I am begging you, please stop reporting on the horse. If it dies let me know. Do I really need to hear that a horse slept well the night before and is eating well?

To all the idiots that are sending fruit baskets and stuff to the horse... STOP! People that send fruit baskets to horses are the product of cousins having sex. I wonder what is going through those peoples heads? You know how when you are about to do something stupid and that little voice in your head starts talking to you letting you know how dumb you are? I wonder what these peoples little voices in their heads are saying?

Inbred Idiot: Uhhh.... I think I am going to buy a horse some fruit.

Little Voice: Are you serious? Do you think the horse will like you better? Do you need friends this bad? This is just like that time you decided to wear orange overalls to the Clemson game. Please don't! You are so pathetic!

Which one is Barbaro? Who knows? It's just a horse people!

Clemson Football and NC State Basketball: Brothers in Arms

Not buying it? Read on.

1. Both Schools Have Legendary Coaches
Norm Sloan and Frank Howard are legends of the college game in their respective fields.

2. Both Won National Titles in the Early 80's
Not only did both ACC schools wins national championships in the early 80's, but these championships also gave both schools a superiority complex. NC State's title in 1983 was one of the flukiest of all time. At best they were the 15th best team in the nation. Clemson may well have been the best team in 1981, but it was more the established programs having not going undefeated simaltaneously (Nebraska went 9-3, Penn State went 10-2, Pitt went 11-1, Texas went 10-1-1, Alabama went 9-2-1, etc.). The national championship required a perfect storm from both teams. They should be credited for rising to the occasion and taking advantage of the opportunity, but if anything it was a once a generation event. The schools' rabid fans don't quite realize that.

3. Both Schools Believe it is Their Birthright to Win Titles Every Year
NC State sees it position on Tobacco Road beside Duke and North Carolina, and believes it should routinely make Final 4 appearances. Clemson sees its coach with a 'Bowden' surname and believes it should consistently win 10 games a season. I don't know many diehard NC State basketball fans, but every Clemson fan I know was practically creaming themselves over the spring game. A sloppy affair that had in the neighborhood of 30 combined turnovers. Clemson fans should take a lesson from Larry David and curb their enthusiasm.

4. Both Titles Were Won a Loooooooooong Time Ago
Most of the contributors to this blog were not even born when Clemson won their championship. Some geezers like Michael Reese were infants, but the rest of us were in utero. Similarly, I was less than a year old when NC State won their championship. The NCAA tourney didn't even have 64 teams then.

5. Both Schools' Coaches Seem to Always Be on the Hotseat
Herb Sendek has already left NC State and its ungrateful fan base. Despite maintaining bowl eligibility in each of his 7 seasons, Tommy Bowden seems to always be under pressure at Clemson.

They seem pretty similar to me. Your thoughts?

Is NC State A Little Nervous?

NC State QB, Marcus Stone ------- App. State QB Trey Elder

This September 2nd up at Carter Finley Stadium, the Appalachian State Mountaineers will roll into town not trying to play close, but trying to WIN! And it's very possible, let me tell you why.

N.C. State....who is well coached, but at times not well coached, lost half of their starters this past year on the offensive side and defensive side of the ball. These players lost include the top three receivers and four of the five leading tacklers from last year. Of course we all know their defense will be without Marcus Mudson (85 career starts), Mario Williams (84), Oliver Motye (88), and Manny Lawson (26). At the end of the season last year, QB Marcus Stone played well and TB Andre Brown shined also but keep in mind, this years game against App. State is game 1 of the year.

After coming off a great year winning the D1-AA Championship, the Appalachian St. Mountaineers have six players who have been named NCAA Division I-AA preseason all-Americans by The Sports Network. Buck Buchanan Award candidate senior defensive end Marques Murrell, senior offensive tackle Matt Isenhour and junior safety Corey Lynch all garnered first-team honors, senior tight end Daniel Bettis was named to the second team and junior offensive guard Kerry Brown and senior safety Jeremy Wiggins collected honorable mention recognition.

Even without their star QB from last year, this years QB proved in last years postseason that he can be an excellent QB and a tremendous leader out on the field. When it comes down to it, NC State may have too many ahtletes for App. State to win. Whether the Mountaineers win or lose, I look for this to be a competitive game and I would not be surprised to see the Mountaineers pull off an upset.

If NC State is unable to make it to a bowl game, will this be Chuck Amato's last year there?
Yes
No
Who will win on Sept. 2nd when App. State plays at NC State?
App. State
NC State

Clemson Can Win the ACC... All They Need Is Spurrier

I'll be the first to admit that Clemson has a very talented team. They could win another championship and this time they don't even have to cheat to get it. All they need is Steve Spurrier. That's right I said it! Steve Spurrier! Tommy Bowden is a good coach. He was a great coach at Tulane but he's a long way from Tulane now! Let's face it, he can't compete with Floridia State, Miami or teams like Va Tech. Bowden coaching in the ACC is like having a one legged long jump competitor. They are real good to have only one leg but they can't quite compete with the two legged people of the world.

What could Spurrier bring to Clemson you might ask? Offense....... tons and tons of offense. Clemson definately has the tools to put up huge numbers. I am a huge Gamecocks fan and I still can't figure out how Blake Mitchell threw for for over 2300 yards and 17 touchdowns. He could do the same thing for Will Proctor. The only difference is Clemson has a great running back which will further open up the passing game.

We all know the head controls everyhting. Wouldn't you want the head of your team to have a brilliant mind. Yes! Spurrier even led Duke to the 1989 ACC Championship! I'm sure he can do the same for Clemson.

A message to Tommy Bowden: retire and become the most succesful high school football coach in the country. Your talents better suit you for that job.

Giles!!!! Sit Down, It's Wilson's Turn.

I've said it before but it is worth repeating. PLEASE PLAY WILSON BETEMIT! I have the perfect person to bench and give Wilson a chance to play everyday. Marcus Giles. Marcus has really struggled this year. Let's face it. He's just not that good. Why should Betemit get the nod over Giles? Let's look at the stats.

Giles has 303 at bats on the year compared to Betemits 145. It's a rather large difference. Giles has had 158 more at bats than Betemit. What has he done with them...... Well he has 10 more RBI's with 28 and one fewer homerun than Betemit with 5. Sure, I know what your thinking, Giles is the leadoff man his RBI total and homerun total should be lower.

The thing is Giles is a horrible leadoff hitter. Saying he is horrible is letting him off easy. He stinks! He has a .332 On Base Percentage (OBP), .353 Slugging Percentage (SLG) and a .241 Batting Average (BA). Betemit's on base percentage is 8 points higher, Slugging percentage is 73 points higher and his batting average is 35 points higher. Why is Betemit on the bench?
