Answer: The official was NOT correct. The resuming play procedure is not used here since there has been no timeout. By rule once Team B was directed to put someone in the first lane space, they must do so without delay. If they do not, it is a team technical foul for delay. A2 would shoot two free throws with no one lined up along the lane, any player or eligible substitute on Team A would attempt the two free throws for the technical foul and Team A would be awarded the ball out of bounds at the division line for a throw-in.
