So Considering Clemson Beat Both Of The Teams That Are Playing For The ACC Championship This Weekend, Does This Mean .....

I'm not saying Clemson is the best team in the ACC and deserves the crown. I'm simply asking this in a question form: the two teams that are playing for the ACC Crown, Clemson defeated both. Does this mean Clemson should be the ACC Champion?

I am extremely happy and proud of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons this year for their accomplishments to making a trip to this game but Georgia Tech? Seriously? Clemson pantyslapped the yellowjackets all up and down the field on primetime national television, and to be quite honest with you, I think Wake Forest will too.

If Clemson had beat Maryland they would have been there. But they didn't, which is why winning conference games is so important, whether your playing a conference powerhouse, or N.C. State, UNC, or Duke. Thats the glory of College Football. Reese I know your a true fan of the game, so sit back and start dreaming about next year. If Will Korn is any good a freshman, y'all should have a pretty good shot at Title Game next year. Also I know you are taking a break from Politics Rocks, but are you still going to blog on Sports Talk Rocks?
Y'all made some pretty good picks this year, if I had gone to Vegas with them, I would a wealthy man right now.

Tim,
I totally agree with you, I was just mildly joking around I guess you could say. And Clemson should only blame themselves, no reason for them to play that poorly against Maryland. Do you have any ties to Maryland by chance?
Every Saturday is almost a playoff game in itself. If you want to make it to that "national championship game" or "ACC Championship game," you really can't afford any hickups along the way.

I am def going to continue the Sports site. Hopefully by retiring the political site, i'll put more time into the sports site now so def. keep checking it.

IMO Clemson is the best overall team in the ACC even though they have struggled the past few weeks. It was a different Clemson team but they flat out dominated Tech. Wake they struggled but the light came on and thanks to Gaines Adams they ended up winning that game.

Virginia Tech laid the gameplan on how to beat Clemson and the Clemson coaches had no clue what to do after that. As far as talent I think Clemson was one of the most talented teams but after that Va Tech game the coaches looked like mid-major coaches. Spence was the mad scientist the first part of the season then the 2nd half he was just....mad. Coaching is what lost the game on Saturday and if Steve Spurrier was wearing Orange and Purple Clemson would be in the ACC title game this year......good thing he likes Garnet and Black

I agree with you Kirk, but I don't think that Spence was necessarily stumped. I just think that we were so limited at quarterback that there was not much Spence could do.

If you watched the N.C. State game, Spence called some fantastic plays, but Proctor could not hit an open receiver.

With that said though, I do think that Spurrier does a better job getting the most out of his talent as compared to Clemson. And I do agree with the comment. I just don't think that it is like Spence was stumped and had no answers. I think he had the answers, he just did not have the equal sign.

By the way, interesting article in the AJC today about how Wake and GT had the easiest conference schedules in the ACC. Interestingly enough, Clemson had the toughest in-conference schedule in the ACC>

I've known Ralph for as long as can remember. He is a really close friend of my father. I more connected to the Georgia Tech program where I was a ball boy for about five years. It is really a big coaching fraternity from that school with O'Leary and Bobby Ross. They are also really good friends with VT coach Frank Beamer as well. We all go vaction at the same spot on Lake Oconee GA together. I was really glad to see Ralph do so well this season because he was definitely on the hot seat this year. Next year though I'll be even more passionate about Army Football because my little brother will be a student assistant on their football team. Ultimately I'm a Gamecock fan because its my alma mater (class of 2006), and I hope we get a chance to play Maryland so that I can talk a little friendly trash to Ralph, who has given me hell for being a Gamecock over the last four years.
