I wish they would have gone into deeper discussion concering Clemson vs. Boston College. That will be a huge game, if Clemson wins, we will be looking very good to win possibly 9 games this year!

Matty,
Just so you know, the Wake Forest non-conference schedule features games against powerhouses Syracuse (keep in mind Jim Brown graduated A LONG TIME ago), Ole Miss (bottom of the SEC West last season), Liberty (although we should never doubt the power of God), and Connecticut (remember that Rudy Gay does not play on their football team).
The South Carolina non-conference schedule features a showdown with Wofford (the smallest school in all of Division I college football) and Florida Atlantic.
While Clemson is not exactly loaded with top tier non-conference opponents, they can use the same argument that South Carolina has been using for years. You don't need to schedule tough non-conference games when you are playing Boston College, Florida State, and Virginia Tech in the your conference slate.

I don't recall claiming Wake or South Carolina had a difficult non-conference schedule. Wake does play 3 teams from BCS confreences though. Usually even the bottom of the BCS leagues (Mississippi, Syracuse, Connecticut) are better than the dregs of the Sun Belt or MAC (Florida Atlantic and Temple).

Ok i havent listened to the audio yet but since I know a little bit about the South Carolina athletic department I will tell you that I have no problem with playing Wofford, Fla Atlantic or anybody else. The SEC is tough enough and when you are operating a few million in the Red then you need all the home games you can get. Sure fans like mathups against powers but USC needs money right now and its not like we are in the hunt for the national title so strength of schedule really isnt going to matter for USC.
$$$$$ rules the world.....and college football too.

Well the main reason is Title 9 but since that isnt going to change you could say....the 6 home games we had in 2004 is a big reason. Factor that in with rising tuition costs and low ticket prices. Rick Stockstill actually asked me why we charged so low for ticket prices. No our football program has not had much success but other schools charge much more. We charged $25,$30 and $40 last year. We've gone up about $10 on tickets but when Tennessee is making over $21million on ticket sales and USC is making $8million you can see the picture. Plus we have people giving $150 sitting on the 50yd line while people giving either $1350 or even $3000 might not get tickets to all the games. Plus our womens basketball staff taking "recruiting" visits to Europe every summer etc.... It will all be fixed after this year though with 7 home games and an increase in ticket prices.
